georg-i makes a case for himself as one of the most vital increasing manufacturers of 2023.

Rising manufacturer and DJ georg-i encapsulates the shapeshifting face of UK dance music. Initially turning heads with an extraordinary launching for the irrepressibly fantastic YCO team (his second-ever release!), the Bristol-based, Leeds-born artist has gradually slung a unrelenting barrage of crucial tasks at us, most justrecently reorganizing everybody’s interiors with overclocked club weapons for FELT and lettingloose a Rave Ballista for his YCO household – yes come on certainly! In doing so georg-i hasactually linedup himself with a friend of artists, led in no little part by YCO custodians aya and BFTT, that are remaking the UK noise in their own image, stunning UK techno, hardcore, breakbeat and jungle with sufficient crackling Zillennial energy to blow that Lost Mary™ right out of your smiling mouth.

His Fact mix is an incisive summary of some of the most amazing skills coming out of the UK and Europe, as well as a tribute to some tracks that have had specific impact on the artist’s technique to production. Whether its coaxing the lustsick croons of Bruce’s ‘In The Pines’ into the detailed, tough sci-fi puzzle box of Hassan Abou Alam’s ‘Gloom’ and the pulsating comic book geek poetry of AtomTM’s ‘0.9 (Almost a Unit),’ smashing the 1000-tonne, integrate harvester-in-a-cyclone mayhem of Roho’s ‘Elemental’ into the commercial stack chauffeur carnage of Cocktail Party Effect’s ‘Fixing The Roof,’ or back-ending aya’s hurrying speed run surgicaltreatment of Space Afrika and Blackhaine’s ‘B£E’ with his own molten-hot, supercharged steamroller ‘Cauterize,’ georg-i manages these tracks with deft proficiency and genuine love.

“I truly desired to capture the minutes on the dance flooring which actually stick with you the next day,” he describes. “The type of things that you can keepinmind previous the faint ringingintheears ring paired with the ridiculous hangover. For me this can be huge gestural tunes, modifications in momentum, or more subtle motions which creep up on you, leaving you in a area you weren’t anticipating to be. These little stories are the things I have the most enjoyable putting together when DJing and so I desired this mix to be me pulling a lot of them together whilst constantly preserving a sense of moving forward.”
