odds as of 7/29/2023

United States Women’s National Team forward Sophia Smith is no longer the favorite, but a new player claimed the spot as the favorite.

Germany captain Alexandra Popp, who scored twice against Morocco, moved to the top spot on the odds list at +470 (bet $10 to win $57 total) as other contenders dropped back.

Smith is second at +600, followed by Brazil’s Ary Borges, who surged to the top of the odds list earlier in the week after scoring a hat trick against Panama on Monday. She was at +275 before dropping to +650.

Smith, who scored twice in the USWNT’s opening 3-0 win over Vietnam, was at +310 before Borges’ breakout game.

USWNT’s Alex Morgan — who was the +500 second betting choice to start the tournament but has yet to hit the back of the net in the USWNT’s first two matches — is at +2300.

FOX Sports Wagering Expert Chris “The Bear” Fallica has an under-the-radar player in mind to win the Golden Boot as well.

“I have my eye on someone way down the list to have a big month — Sweden’s Fridolina Rolfö” Fallica said.

“Rolfö scored the goal which gave Barcelona the Women’s Champions League title last month, was tied for the team lead in goals during qualifying and isn’t afraid to try from distance. She will obviously have to compete with teammate Stina Blackstenius for goals, but if Sweden is to make a deep run, Rolfö will be a big reason why.”
