The NASCAR Cup Series returned from the off-week with the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday, and we had you covered with all the night racing action from start to surface!
Thirty-six of NASCAR’s top chauffeurs fought it out over 300 laps and 400 miles on the concrete oval-shaped speedway in Tennessee, however it was pole-sitter Ross Chastain who came out on top after a whirlwind race — the 17th of the season.
With the win, Chastain, more passionately understood as the “Melon Man,” protected his veryfirst win of the 2023 season and snapped a 42-race winless streak in the procedure.

Green!
Chastain was in the pole position for the veryfirst time in his profession Sunday and led the field in the opening lap.
Meanwhile, Bubba Wallace made his 200th Cup Series start.
Early problems for Busch
Kyle Busch had to go to pit roadway in the early part of the race to repair his back right back tire due to air concerns.
Reddick strolls in front
Tyler Reddick utilized the inside part of the track to relocation past Chastain and take the lead on Lap 61, moving in front of the field with less than 30 laps to go in Stage 1.
Stage 1 in the books
Reddick was able to hold the lead through the veryfirst 90 laps to safeandsecure the Stage 1 win.
William Byron, Martin Truex Jr., and Denny Hamlin rounded out the leading 5.
Need for speed
Byron got off pit roadway veryfirst, improving his position from 3rd to veryfirst early in the 2nd phase.
Three-wide fight
In the early parts of Stage 2, Truex, Byron and Chastain were side-by-side for several laps, sharing the lead.
After a coupleof minutes, Truex pulled ahead, and he kept the lead through Lap 130.
In difficulty
After racing amongst the leaders (and even holding the lead at one point) for much of the race, Reddick discovered himself in a bad area when he gotin pit roadway throughout Stage 2.
One of his wheels fell off, triggering him to spin out and fall a couple of laps behind.
Big wreck
Ryan Blaney was included in a tough crash in the middle of Stage 2, triggering significant damage to the front of his carsandtruck and bringing out the care.
Following the trash, Blaney wentthrough examination at the infield care center and was quickly launched.
Hamlin takes Stage 2
Hamlin won Stage 2 with relieve, endingup in front of Truex, Byron, Chastain and Christopher Bell.
Follow the leader!
Chastain overtook Hamlin off Turn 4 to gainback the lead early in the 3rd phase. With 63 laps staying, Chastain had constructed his lead out to 1.2 seconds.
Elsewhere, Kevin Harvick got a flat ideal rear tire down the back straightaway and fell well off the speed.
All gas, no brakes
Chastain and Truex continued to fight late in the race. They were neck and neck with 30 to go.
Final stretch
Chastain, who came to life throughout the 2nd half of Sunday’s race, was back up to a 2nd lead in the last coupleof laps.
He held on for the win, followed by Truex, Hamlin, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson rounding out the leading 5.
