‘BIG Bets’: Can Michigan discover success with another quarterback?

1 minute, 55 seconds Read

Colin Cowherd doesn’t simply talk football — he makes chooses, too.

Cowherd and Jason McIntyre invested part of Thursday exposing their 3 finest bets for Week 8 of the college football season, focusing on a coupleof Big Ten groups.

Let’s dive into their analysis from “The Herd.”

(All times ET)

No. 2 OREGON @ PURDUE (8 p.m., Friday, FOX/FOX Sports App)

Colin’s choose: Under 61.5 overall points

Colin’s ideas: “Purdue is not a excellent football group. Oregon’s defense will keep Purdue — which hasactually been held under 10 points in 2 of their last 3 videogames — down. I believe Oregon comes out offensively a little flat. It kind of feels 40-10, 37-13.”

NEBRASKA @ No. 16 INDIANA (noon, Saturday, FOX/FOX Sports App)

J-Mac’s select: Nebraska +6.5

J-Mac’s ideas: “Fun stat from FOX: Indiana has not tracked for a 2nd this season. They’re a terrific story. … However, they sanctuary’t played anyone.”

No. 24 MICHIGAN @ ILLINOIS (3: 30 p.m., CBS/Paramount+)

Colin’s choose: Illinois +3.5

Colin’s ideas: “Michigan is now on their 3rd quarterback. They’re the worst offense of the leading 25 groups. Illinois can get physical. Illinois has won 2 of 3 videogames versus ranked challengers. It’s their videogame of the year. Bret Bielema hasactually been quite excellent in huge videogames.”

J-Mac’s choose: Illinois +3.5

J-Mac’s ideas: “Michigan is desperate for offense. I’m gonna take Illinois.”

Colin & JMac’s Big Bets: Nebraska (+6.5) covers, USC (-7) beats Maryland in Week 8

USC @ MARYLAND (4 p.m., Saturday, FS1)

Colin’s choose: USC -7.5

Colin’s ideas: “USC, with Lincoln Riley, is 18-2 versus unranked groups. They win these videogames. Maryland simply got blown out by Northwestern. Their defense is terrible. USC scored versus LSU. USC scored on Wisconsin. USC scored on Penn State. USC is gonna rating points here.”

IOWA @ MICHIGAN STATE (7: 30 p.m, Saturday, NBC/Peacock)

J-Mac’s select: Michigan State +5

J-Mac’s ideas: “Everybody saw Iowa smash Washington, however they simply saw the rating. They didn’t see that Washington out-gained Iowa; they simply kept with the self-inflicted injuries. Iowa has to go to Michigan State, and they have lost 3 in a row, however they’re off a bye. I believe that bye is huge.”
