Bobby Wagner is back where it all started with the Seattle Seahawks.
A coupleof weeks after being cut by the Los Angeles Rams, the 11-year veteran linebacker signed a offer to return to the Seahawks after one season with their NFC West competitors.
Wagner described in a Zoom press conference Wednesday why he’s delightingin being back in the Pacific Northwest.
“I neverever truly desired to leave in the veryfirst location,” Wagner informed pressreporters. “Obviously, organization occurred, and I had an chance to go play in the city I grew up in, and so I idea that was cool. And then I desire to come back to the city I kind of grew in. For me, it was cool to be able to make that takeplace.
“Me being able to represent myself, I constantly idea it was cool when you had those representatives out there that were able to get the gamer what he desired, so I desired to be house, and this was another house of myown, and I desired to be back.”
Seattle launched Wagner last offseason, the verysame stretch in which it traded star quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Wagner signed a five-year offer with the Rams, amountingto 140 integrated takeson, 6 sacks, 5 passes defensed and 2 interceptions in 2022.
The Rams, though, cut Wagner in March after going 5-12. He lateron signed a 1year offer with the Seahawks.
Across Wagner’s initial 10-year stint with the Seahawks (2012-21), he balanced 138.3 integrated dealswith, 2.4 sacks, 6 passes defensed and 1.1 interceptions per season. Wagner was part of Seattle’s Super Bowl XLVIII defense, which gaveup the least overall backyards (273.6) and points (14.4) per videogame in the 2013 NFL routine season. He hasactually missedouton simply 3 videogames consideringthat 2015.
Wagner, who stated that he’d like to end his profession with the Seahawks, referenced a handful of existing Seattle gamers recruiting him, such as defensive back Quandre Diggs, playing a function in his return.
