Jacque Vaughn, who hasactually coached the Brooklyn Nets into playoff position inspiteof the trades of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving throughout another rough season for the franchise, has concurred to a multiyear agreement extension.
Vaughn changed Nash early in the season and the Nets revealed Tuesday they were extending his offer. Terms were not revealed, though basic supervisor Sean Marks stated the Nets looked forward to Vaughn leading the group “for years to come.”
“Jacque hasactually made an instant and countless effect on our whole company because presuming the function of head coach earlier this season,” Marks stated in a news release.
The Nets (34-24) are 5th in the Eastern Conference and haveactually gone 32-19 under Vaughn, the fifth-best record in the league.
He changed Nash on an interim basis on Nov. 1 and took the full-time position on Nov. 9 — after the Nets had talkedabout the position with previous Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka.
Vaughn rapidly steadied the group and the Nets rose to a franchise-best 12-1 record in December, earning coach of the month honors in the East.
The Nets climbedup all the method to 2nd in the East priorto Durant was hurt in January. He neverever played for the group onceagain inthepast being traded to Phoenix days after Irving was dealt to Dallas.
