Ja Morant injury upgrade: Grizzlies star PG out for Game 2

After suffering an injury to his right hand in the 4th quarter of Memphis’ Game 1 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, Grizzlies star Ja Morant is out for Wednesday’s Game 2, the group revealed.

Morant suffered the injury with less than 6 minutes to go in the videogame, after driving to the basket and trying to raise and surface over the Lakers’ Anthony Davis. Morant — who was called for a charge on the play — crashed to the ground and was rightaway seen twisting in discomfort. 

He ran off the flooring to the locker space, priorto returning to the bench with his hand greatly covered. However, he did not return to the videogame.

Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins informed reportersn earlier this week that an MRI discovered that Morant suffered a soft tissue contusion in his shooting hand. Morant’s Game 1 injury was infact a reaggravated injury he suffered in the last week of the routine season.

After the videogame Sunday, Jenkins stated X-rays on Morant’s hand were unfavorable however that “he’s in some discomfort.”

Morant had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 helps, 2 takes and 6 turnovers in Game 1. The fourth-year point guard balanced 26.2 points and 8.1 helps per videogame throughout the routine season.
