Nebraska head coach Scott Frost revealed that Casey Thompson will be the group’s beginning quarterback to start the 2022 college football season.
Frost stated that Thompson is going to be “the person” in an look on the Husker Sports Nightly radio program. The Cornhuskers open the 2022 season versus Northwestern in Dublin, Ireland on Aug. 27.
“Talking to the offensive personnel about it, Casey’s going to be the person,” Frost stated. “But we’ve had a lot of people playing well at that position.
“Chubba [Purdy] simply keeps enhancing. Logan [Smothers] is plainly muchbetter than he was last year. We’ve seen a lot of excellent things out of [Heinrich] Haarberg, and Richie [Torres] is a super-talented young man. I actually like what we have at that position. Thompson moved to Nebraska after 3 seasons at Texas, where he was the main starter in2021 He completed with 2,113 passing lawns, 24 passing goals, 9 interceptions and a 154.7 quarterback score while finishing 63.2% of his passes. He likewise logged 157 hurrying lawns and 4 hurrying goals.
