The NFL has closed an examination into sexual attack claims versus Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The league hasactually been evaluating the case for months, attempting to identify whether Watson must be penalized.
“The matter is closed,” league spokesperson Brian McCarthy stated Friday in an e-mail to The Associated Press. “There was inadequate proof to assistance a finding of a infraction of the individual conduct policy.”
Watson, who served an 11-game suspension in 2022, was implicated of attack in Texas by a lady in September. She was lookingfor more than $1 million in damages before the sides reached a private settlement.
Watson highly rejected the accusations through his lawyer, Rusty Hardin. The 29-year-old Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture in October. He’s been rehabbing the injury in hopes of returning next season.
The Browns still owe Watson $46 million in each of the next 2 seasons after they signed him to a totally ensured $230 million agreement that has backfired. Watson has just played in 19 videogames over 3 seasons due to the suspension and injuries.
