Oct. 9 (UPI) — Thousands of United Auto Workers strolled off the task in 3 states Monday after declining a brand-new pay offer from Mack Trucks.
The UAW revealed the strike in a declaration published to Twitter, stating the strike would start at 7 a.m. EDT, with staffmembers leaving centers inharmony in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida.
The strike comes after UAW turned down the mostcurrent pay deal from the truck maker, with 73% of the 4,000-member union body ballot versus a tentative arrangement reached simply one week back.
At the time, the North Carolina-based truck maker, which is a branch of the Swedish Volvo Group, stated the brand-new pay offer “would provide considerably increased salaries and continue top-notch advantages for Mack staffmembers and their households.”
