A luxuryyacht sank after it was assaulted by a pod of whale for 45 minutes, a cruising business has stated, marking the mostcurrent attack on a boat by the sea mammals this year.
Polish trip operator Morskie Mile — which indicates “sea miles” — stated in a Facebook post that its privateyacht Grazie Mamma II was assaulted while cruising the Strait of Gibraltar inbetween Spain and Morocco on Oct. 31.
The whales assaulted the boat’s rudder, the business stated, triggering significant damage and a leakage. Despite an effort by the captain to take the boat to the nearby port, and a rescue effort that included the Moroccan Navy, the privateyacht sank near the entryway to the port of Tanger Med, about an hour’s drive east of the city of Tangiers.
