Napoli coach Antonio Conte has apologised to fans after his side “melted like snow” in their 3-0 defeat at Hellas Verona on Sunday.

It was Conte’s initially videogame in charge of the 2023 Scudetto winners, who completed a frustrating 10th in the table last season.

“I am the coach and it is right that I take complete obligation,” Conte stated after Napoli’s season-opening defeat.

“I humbly apologise since the 2nd half was inappropriate. We went behind and then we melted like snow in the sun. There is something to be embarrassed of, and there is a lot of work to be done in all aspects. I will now have to apologise to the Neapolitan individuals who program us so much love and enthusiasm.”

The previous Chelsea and Tottenham coach might not conceal his dissatisfaction after his group stoppedworking to respond when going behind in the 50th minute.

“Beyond the transfer market conversation, what is fretting is seeing the 2nd half and that at the veryfirst problem we melted like snow,” Conte stated. “I showedup in Naples with excellent interest, terrific desire. I can make myself readilyavailable in any scenario, if I can aid Napoli I will.”
