PARIS (Reuters) -France has asked the European Commission to extend beyond Sept. 20 a duedate for sending a strategy to decrease its public deficit to lineup with Paris’ 2025 draft budgetplan, La Tribune du Dimanche stated on Sunday, pointingout the Finance Ministry.

France might see its budgetplan deficit spiral allofasudden greater this year and next if additional costsavings are not discovered, the financing ministry stated in a letter to legislators earlier this month, as the euro zone’s second-biggest economy stumbles muchdeeper into political crisis.
