NEW DELHI, Nov 4 (Reuters) – India’s air security guarddog proposes lowered night work hours and more rest for pilots, amongst procedures to address increasing grievances of pilot tiredness, according to draft policies seen by Reuters on Saturday.

The proposition from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation come more than 2 months after it chose to conduct a evaluation of pilot tiredness information gathered throughout area checks and monitoring of airlinecompanies.

The evaluation was released after an IndiGo (INGL.NS) pilot collapsed and passedaway in August before his flight.

Changes would consistof cutting the optimum flight responsibility duration to 10 hours from 13 hours for pilots operating at night, and increasing the minimum weekly rest duration to 48 hours from 36 hours.

The directorate did not rightaway respond to a demand for remark on the draft.
