Jets Rumors: Robert Saleh’s Zach Wilson Support Has Defense ‘Not Happy’

This is not how the 2023 project was expected to go for the New York Jets.

They were mostlikely a quarterback away from contending last season with a dominant defense and a talented young core of gamers that consistedof Garrett Wilson, Sauce Gardner and Breece Hall. They reacted this offseason by bringing in one of the finest signal-callers of all time in Aaron Rodgers, just for him to tear his Achilles in the veryfirst videogame.

Zach Wilson is now back under center, which is supposedly irritating the protective gamers on the group.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported on the Flight Deck podcast (3: 20 mark) that the defense is not happy with head coach Robert Saleh’s constant public assistance of Wilson throughout the early season battles.

“Of course he has questions about Wilson,” Cimini stated of the coach. “He’s seeing what we’re enjoying. He’s enjoyed it for two-and-a-half years. He certainly has questions. He understands what Wilson is. But the thing is, he’s coming off as a Zach apologist. And that doesn’t play well in the locker space. The defense, in specific, is not pleased.

“… This defense understands that if any other gamer was carryingout his task the method Wilson is carryingout his, that gamer would be benched. Trust me, there’s stress in that locker space.”
