March 21 (UPI) — Joshua Hartfield, one of 6 previous Mississippi law-enforcement officers foundedguilty of abusing 2 Black males in January 2023, was sentenced to 10 years in jail Thursday afternoon.
He was the last of the 6 offenders to be sentenced this week.
Hartfield, a previous Richland Police Department officer, was the just offender who was not a member of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department. He pleaded guilty in August to state charges of conspiracy to devote blockage of justice and first-degree blockage of justice.
Hartfield utilized a Taser on the 2 guys — Eddie Parker and Michael Jenkins — while they were handcuffed, and he likewise attempted to getridof of proof in the case, districtattorneys stated.

Prosecutors stated McAlpin was the leader they explained as the “mafia puton” of the policeofficers who formed a self-styled “Goon Squad” understood for its ruthless interrogation techniques.
