Matt Ulrich, previous Colts Super Bowl champ, passesaway at 41

Former Indianapolis Colts star and Super Bowl champ Matt Ulrich has passedaway, group owner Jim Irsay stated Wednesday. 

He was 41.

“I am sad to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich. Matt was with us just 2 seasons, however left his mark on lotsof,” Irsay composed in a post on X. “Great guy, I hear he was a terrific daddy — and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his household.”

A cause of death has not been divulged.

Ulrich, who initially hailed from Illinois, was the captain of Northwestern University’s football group in 2004 and signed with the Colts the following year as an undrafted complimentary representative. The offensive guard invested 2 years with the Colts, and he was part of the 2006 group, which consistedof quarterback Peyton Manning, that beat the Chicago Bears in the 2007 Super Bowl.

Ulrich was married and leaves behind 4 kids.

His partner, Alison, composed a homage on Facebook, stating: “Our cherished, One of a kind Matt hasactually passed away and is in a muchbetter location,” The Indianapolis Star reported.
