May 13 (UPI) — A 20-year-old Indian nationwide with irreversible U.S. residency pleaded guilty Monday to crashing a U-Haul truck into metal barriers safeguarding the White House almost a year ago in his stoppedworking effort to takeover manage of the U.S. federalgovernment and change it with a Nazi dictatorship.
Sai Varshith Kandula of St. Louis, Miss., was jailed May 22 of last year after crashing the leased U-Haul truck into the metal security barrier exterior Lafayette Park.
Court files state he rammed the barrier twotimes, with the 2nd time paralyzing the car. Then, he left the truck and displayed a flag emblazoned with the Nazi Swastika that he had kept in the truck’s taxi. He was taken into custody by U.S. Park Police and Secret Service officers.
Kandula triggered $4,322 in damage to the barrier and more than $50,000 to the U-Haul in the attack.
Though charged with an variety of offenses, consistingof threatening to eliminate, abduct or cause damage on the president, vice president or their household members, he pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of willful injury or depredation of residentialorcommercialproperty of the United States.
