ESPN’s Adam Schefter atfirst reported that Love would missouton 3 to 4 weeks after suffering a sprained MCL on Sept. 6. Schefter keptinmind that MCL injuries “typically” do not require surgicaltreatment.
The injury tookplace in the last seconds of the Packers’ season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in São Paulo, Brazil. Love hadactually gone 17-of-34 for 260 lawns, 2 goals and an interception before he was assisted off the field.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Sept. 8 that the Packers were “focused on preparing Malik Willis and Sean Clifford” ahead of the group’s home opener versus the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
The Packers obtained Willis from the Tennessee Titans in late August after Clifford hadahardtime in the preseason. The 2 quarterbacks had made a integrated overall of 13 NFL looks and 3 begins heading into the 2024 season.
Willis made his Packers launching when he stepped in as relief for Love in the last minutes of the 2024 season opener in Brazil. The 2022 third-rounder tossed an incompletion before taking a sack on the last play of the videogame.
