Ricky Brabec has won the 2024 Dakar Rally. He ran a tactically perfect race throughout the 14 days and 12 phases to protect an 11-minute lead over Ross Branch. His just phase win came 2 days ago, and that was followed by a fantastic phase 11, where he began in front and completed in front. On that phase, Ross Branch had the finest changed time, which indicated that Ricky just had to follow Ross today. Kevin Benavides had the fastest time on the last day for his 3rd phase win this year. In the end, the podium was Brabec, Branch, Adrien Van Beveren and Benavides.
Ricky Brabec: “This time was a little bit various. I feel like this one was more made. This time was a lot harder. In 2020, we had a huge space from the start. Here, I believe me and Ross invested 3 days with a couple of seconds distinction. It was a tight race for all of us. I believe inbetween veryfirst and 3rd there are eleven minutes or something, whatever Adrien got, however it’s been a tight race and 10 minutes is not a huge space here on the rally. It’s been tight. I had 2 great days, 2 chances to make a great push, however likewise phase 11 was a scare aspect for me duetothefactthat I understood Ross was beginning behind me, 18 minutes behind, and if he captured me it would be over. Stage 11 was tough for me, however I remained focused, got to the endingup line and didn’t lose too much time, so I’m truly delighted with this and I’m truly pleased for the group. I’m pleased for all of us, we did an outstanding task all of the 2 weeks. I believe number 9 will be my fortunate number from now on.”
Ross Branch: “Finally endedup the Dakar!! It was a truly difficult Dakar 2024, and I’m so delighted to be here! Finishing on the podium was constantly the objective, and today it’s a dream come real. I’m actually over the moon to attain this objective for Hero. And a huge thank you to the group for establishing a extremely competitive device, for the sleepdeprived 3 weeks here, and for whatever they’ve compromised to reach to this point. I’m actually proud of my group. We’ve got some more work to do to be on the next action, so we’ll appearance forward to that in the next year. A huge thank you to everybody for your continued assistance from all around the world!”
Kyle McCoy: “That sensation!!! Finished the last phase today (which even then they didn’t let up on problem). I had an fantastic journey and happy to be the 3rd American to surface Malle moto class for the Dakar Rally in the 44 year history. We began with 30 in our class of “Original by Motul” (Ironman), 20 completed and I came in 10th (right where I belong mid-pack). But for me it was primarily about setting out to surface what I began last year. This race is exceptionally challenging, and the fellas in this group of 30 are extremely difficult and come from all corners of the world. They all have my utmost regard. I had some severe highs and lows. Day 7 in the dunes when my mechanical concern almost brought me to an end was 30 minutes of my life I’ll ne
