Texas Narrowly Avoids Blackouts Amid Energy Grid Emergency

After a tense coupleof weeks with cautions of capacity power lacks, Texas for the veryfirst time this year directly missedouton real blackouts.

Late on Wednesday, ERCOT stated a grid emergencysituation as the supply of electricalenergy was hardly on par with need and rantheriskof falling brief of it. A coupleof hours lateron the threat of blackouts was prevented.

“ERCOT gotin emergencysituation operations tonight due to a drop in both operating reserves and frequency. By goinginto EEA 2, ERCOT was able to use extra reserve resources to secure the dependability of the grid,” the grid operator of the Lone Star State stated in an X post.
