Dec. 30 (UPI) — Thousands of tourists lookingfor to take the cross-channel Eurostar train from Britain to continental Europe were stranded in London on Saturday due to flooding in a tunnel in southeastern England.
“Due to the flooding of a tunnel on the high-speed line near London, we’re having to cancel all our trains on our path to/from London on Saturday 30 December,” Eurostar stated in a travel upgrade.
“Our stations are really hectic today. Please puton’t come to the station unless you have a legitimate ticket to travel,” authorities alerted.
The rail company, which runs day-to-day service through the English Channel tunnel inbetween London’s St. Pancras Station and Gare du Nord in Paris, askedforgiveness for the “impact triggered” as thousands of guests stranded in London rushed to modification their strategies.
