‘Train Dreams,’ ‘Lurker’ win big at the Independent Spirit Awards

Feb. 15 (UPI) — Train Dreams was the big winner at the Independent Spirit Awards at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday.

The drama took home the prizes for Best Feature, Best Director for Clint Bentley and Best Cinematography for Adolpho Veloso.

Lurker scored the trophies for Best First Feature and Best First screenplay for Alex Russell.

Kayo Martin won for Best Breakthrough Performance for The Plague, while Naomi Ackie and Eva Victor respectively won the trophies for Best Supporting Performance and Best Screenplay for Sorry, Baby.

The Best Documentary prize went to The Perfect Neighbor and the Best International Film honor went to The Secret Agent.

Rose Byrne took home the statuette for Best Lead Performance for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
