Turner Construction Company has moved beyond screening to effectively release Bobcat’s T7X all-electric compact track loader on a jobsite in Berkeley, California.
The compact loader, supplied by Sunbelt Rentals, is being utilized to regrade website gainaccessto roadways on The Gateway task, the future home of UC Berkeley’s computersystem and information science departments. Sunbelt Rentals has an special arrangement for the electrical compact track loader, which was presented at CES 2022.
Turner called the T7X a “natural fit” for the job due to its distance to active class and laboratories at the university. The all-electric track loader is less disruptive to trainees and professors than its diesel equivalent.
The release is part of Turner’s dedication to decarbonize buildingandconstruction operations. Earlier this year, Turner piloted a Volvo EC230 electrical excavator on a task in Silicon Valley.
