Zanu-PF Sets Record Straight on Number of Chinese Nationals Living in Zimbabwe
Zanu-PF Information Director Farai Marapira has clarified the number of Chinese nationals currently living in Zimbabwe, fiercely rebutting claims made by economist Eddie Cross.

In a recent article on his website, Cross asserted that over 85,000 Chinese nationals are in Zimbabwe, exploring its mineral and human resources. He raised concerns about the environmental damage attributed to these activities and highlighted that since 2008, US$30 billion in raw diamonds have been extracted, with only Chinese nationals and army generals benefiting while local communities in Marange remain impoverished.
Cross also suggested that Zimbabwe has 9 billion tonnes of untapped chrome deposits valued at $100 trillion, criticizing the lack of benefits reaching ordinary citizens.
