The St. Louis Cardinals had plenty to be pleased about when they left Arizona this weekend. They swept the Diamondbacks while riding a seven-game winning streak. But … Cardinals supervisor Oliver Marmol did have one concern with the otherwise effective weekend, and that came courtesy of umpire C.B. Bucknor.
Marmol was ejected in the 3rd inning on Sunday when Bucknor called a first-pitch strike on an apparent inside pitch to Nolan Arenado. The response from Arenado stated it all, however the fireworks actually triggered when Marmol got tossed for grumbling about the call.
