It’s been a remarkably questionable offseason for the New Orleans Saints. A lot of NFL media prognosticators went ahead and composed them off as a group that’s going to be bad this year, recommending that the Saints must lean into it and sell off their great gamers so they might kick off a unpleasant restore.
But the Saints didn’t do that. They invested more cash than practically any other group in the league to hire a brand-new beginning quarterback and enhance their depth in totallyfree firm while holding onto some secret factors. But it wasn’t enough to impress CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin, who graded the Saints a C in his 2023 offseason grades:
No one declines to restore like the Saints. New QB Derek Carr is a gutsy leader who may have a deep playoff run in him, offered he’s got an all-star setup a la Matthew Stafford with the 2021 Rams. That he does not. New Orleans is basically simply purchasing another year or 3 of wild card flirtation
