The Golden State Warriors will be without Draymond Green for the second half of game one on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Following a review of a hard foul on Memphis forward Brandon Clarke, Draymond Green was assessed a questionable flagrant two foul and was ejected from the contest with 1: 18 remaining in the second quarter.
Green appeared to make contact with Clarke’s face and tug on his jersey while he attempted a shot in the paint. Quickly after the foul, Green tried to assist Clarke in getting up off the floor. After a lengthy review, Kane Fitzgerald’s officiating crew made the decision to give Green a flagrant two triggering an automatic ejection.
Following his ejection, Green appeared to be yelling and waving his arms as boos reigned down from the Memphis crowd.
Before making his exit, Green had recorded six points on 2-of-3 shooting from the field with four boards, three assists, three steals and a block in 17 minutes.

Flagrant 2 😳😳 that’s big for this game

That flagrant 2 might be majorly detrimental to this warriors team this game…Draymond is a MAJOR part in that system!

Todays league: flagrant 2… BACK IN THE DAY: common foul!
— Javale PIERRE 3Xs McGee (@JaValeMcGee) May 1, 2022
Over-officiating both ways with two teams that want to run is making this so ugly in what should be a really exciting game. Whistles overshadowing everything.

So much interesting stuff in first half. High level competitiveness on both sides. And all anyone will talk about is a quick whistle ejection.
Great job as always @OfficialsNBAref

Flagrant 2, for that?? Do playoff fouls still exist? 🤔

I still can’t believe that CALL on @Money23Green! Trying to do the right thing! If that was blatant his face would have hit the floor! #REFSSUCK

the nba, where the refs make the biggest play of the game

People are misreading why Draymond Green left the court the way he did imo. Jumping around smiling and chiding folks like that reads to me like what you do when you are so enraged but are trying to avoid doing something that’ll get you suspended.
— Marc Delucchi (@maddelucchi) May 1, 2022
That is positively ridiculous.
Sorry @dandibley, tomorrow will be about the refs. They just made it about them.@957thegame— Mark Willard (@Mark_T_Willard) May 1, 2022
