A conference that has produced multiple weeks of high-profile matchups so far this year, few weeks from the SEC however can compare to what occurred during Week 11 of the 2024 season.
Even despite four teams being on a bye week, the SEC produced easily the top two matchups in college football Saturday, which took place in both Oxford and Baton Rouge. In addition to this, places such as Austin and Nashville also hosted intriguing matchups, with some of those results also potentially making headlines by surprising some.
As you’d expect, some of these results had ripple effects across the college football landscape, which included our weekly SEC power rankings.
Let’s take a look at how those results affected the latest update of our 2024 SEC football power rankings coming out of Week 11, starting with No. 16:

- Week 11 Result: 33-14 loss at No. 7 Tennessee
- Week 12 Opponent: BYE
The Mississippi State Bulldogs remained winless in SEC action coming out of Saturday after a 33-14 road loss at Tennessee. Mississippi State enters a bye week at 2-8 overall, as well as 0-6 in SEC play.

- Week 11 Result: BYE
- Week 12 Opponent: vs. UL Monroe
The Auburn Tigers were the first-of-multiple SEC football teams to not play Saturday due to a bye week. Auburn will return to play this upcoming Saturday at home against UL Monroe.

The Kentucky Wildcats were also not in action Saturday due to a bye week. Kentucky will return to action in Week 12 at home against Murray State.

The Oklahoma Sooners continued their recent skid Saturday with a 30-23 defeat at Missouri, which was the fourth loss in the last five games. Oklahoma now enters a bye week at 5-5 overall, as well as 1-5 in SEC play.

- Week 12 Opponent: vs. No. 15 LSU
The Florida Gators certainly had a disappointing Week 11 where they were blown out by Texas in Austin by a final score of 49-17. Billy Napier and the Gators will now return home with a record that is under .500, and will take on the LSU Tigers in Week 12.

Arkansas did not play Saturday due to a bye week. The Razorbacks will be back in action Week 12 for an anticipated home contest against the Texas Longhorns.

Vanderbilt had a bit of a disappointing result Saturday on their home field, falling to South Carolina by a final score of 28-7. The Commodores enter their bye week sitting at 6-4 overall, as well as 3-3 in the SEC.

South Carolina won their third consecutive game Saturday with an impressive 28-7 road victory at Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks will now return home in Week 12 to host the Missouri Tigers.

After a six-game winning streak, LSU dropped their second-straight game Saturday night at home via a rough 42-13 blowout loss against Alabama. The Tigers will now travel to the Florida Gators this weekend looking to snap their skid.

The Georgia Bulldogs suffered their second loss of the 2024 season Saturday afternoon in Oxford when they fell at Ole Miss by a final score of 28-10. Georgia will now return home for the SEC’s top game during Week 12, a Top 25 showdown with the Tennessee Volunteers.

Ole Miss had likely their biggest win of the 2024 season Saturday at home, as the Rebels topped Georgia by a final score of 28-10. The Rebels now enter their bye week at 8-2 overall, as well as 4-2 in SEC play.
