Wayne Swinny, guitarplayer and starting member of tough rock band Saliva, has passedaway after suffering a brain hemorrhage. He was 59. 

Swinny’s bandmates validated his death in a Facebook post Wednesday.

“It is with fantastic unhappiness that we report the passing of our sibling Wayne Swinny,” the band composed. “Wayne passed away this afternoon from a spontaneous brain hemorrhage while we were out on trip. … Wayne will be missedouton by all those who understood him.”

The band included: “We love you Wayne.”

USA TODAY has reached out to Saliva’s agent for more information.

News of Swinny’s death follows the artist’s hospitalization on Tuesday, after bandmates stated he was discovered in “medical distress.”

“He was transferred to a healthcenter where he was identified with a spontaneous hemorrhage in his brain,” the band composed on Facebook hours priorto Swinny’s death. “He is presently in the ICU as we waitfor evenmore news. We ask that you keep him in your ideas and prayers at this time.”
