The Big Ten made a relocation on Friday that guarantees its status as one of the 2 superconferences in college sports and more particularly, college football. Adding Oregon and Washington is definitely huge for the Big Ten.
And it leaves every other conference, with the exception of the SEC, in its fumes.

But what now for the Big Ten? And what does the addition of UCLA, USC and now Friday’s news drop about Oregon and Washington mean for the Big Ten? It suggests practically specific death for the Pac-12, that much is specific.
At the end of Friday, the Big Ten stood at 18 member organizations with the additions of Oregon and Washington. Going to 20 schools appears to make the most sense.
These schools all requirement to have a coupleof fundamentals in order to get these 2 desired areas:
- AAU subscription
- Be in a preferable media market for future tv network offers
- Have feasible football and basketball programs
What are the schools make the most sense for the Big Ten now? Notre Dame clearly if the Fighting Irish desire in…but that doesn’t appearance mostlikely to occur anytime quickly. So what other programs make the most sense for the Big Ten?

6. Clemson
Any possibility the Big Ten desires to get to 20 and include Florida State and Clemson? Just believing out loud duetothefactthat that’s what we do in a world that makes little sense anylonger

It may appear silly to have Clemson this low on the list. After all, Dabo Swinney hasactually been a juggernaut with the Tigers.
But Clemson, while boasting a terrific football program over the past years and strong results in hoops (and some really great Olympic sports), might not be the finest fit for the Big Ten.
First, they are not an AAU member, which hasactually been a need for Big Ten subscription. Second, they puton’t bring an attracting tv market. This is the huge knock here.
Now, is it a strong and enthusiastic fanbase? Absolutely. But South Carolina doesn’t boast a leading 40 tv market, which is vital for tv offers. That might be a non-starter here as the Big Ten looks to stockpile markets in the college football arms race.

The ranking here for Kansas is less about what they bring to the table and more about a determination to relocation conferences. A member of the Big 12, Kansas simply might not desire to relocation right now.
After all, the Big 12 is shrewdly broadening and isn’t in a bad area in all of this.
But if Kansas desires to move, they would be an appealing Midwestern market with a football group on the up and a basketball program that is a blueblood in the sport.
They might not desire to move, however watch out for Kansas in this one.
