DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Yemen’s Houthi rebels hit an oil tanker in the Red Sea with a ballistic rocket early Saturday, damaging the Panama-flagged, Greek-owned vessel in their mostcurrent attack over the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip, authorities stated.

Though the Houthis did not instantly claim the attack, it comes as they declared to have shot down another U.S. military’s MQ-9 Reaper drone over Yemen and haveactually introduced other attacks on shipping, interrupting trade on a secret maritime path leading to the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea.

The attack around 1 a.m. struck the oil tanker Wind, which justrecently docked in Russia and was bound for China, the U.S. military’s Central Command stated. Both China and Russia keep ties over military devices and oil to Iran, the Houthis’ primary benefactor.
