Anwar stated he proposed setting up the fund at the Boao onlineforum in Hainan last week, worrying the requirement to minimize dependence on the UnitedStates dollar or the International Monetary Fund.  “When I had a conference with President Xi Jinping, he rightaway stated, ‘I refer to Anwar’s proposition on the Asian Monetary Fund’, and he invited conversations,” Anwar informed the Malaysian parliament on Tuesday.
