NASHVILLE, Tenn. — President Joe Biden hasactually chosen the previous board chairman of the country’s biggest public energy to rejoin the panel.

Huntsville, Alabama lawyer Joe Ritch is Biden’s choice to return to the board of the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Ritch left the federal energy’s board in 2017 after a Republican-controlled Senate stoppedworking the previous year to verify previous President Barack Obama’s reappointment of Ritch and 2 others. Obama chosen Ritch to the board in2012 The Senate validated him in 2013 and the board voted to make him chairman in 2014.

The nine-member board presently has 4 jobs, not counting 2 sitting members who are still serving after their terms ended in May.
