BEIJING — China appealed Friday to other federalgovernments to reward its business relatively after Britain and New Zealand signedupwith the United States in restricting usage of TikTok due to fears the Chinese-owned brief video service may be a security threat.

Governments are anxious TikTok’s owner, ByteDance, may offer searching history or other information about users to China’s federalgovernment or promote propaganda and disinformation.

“We call on the nations worried to acknowledge the goal realities, successfully regard the market economy” and offer “a non-discriminatory environment” for all business, stated foreign ministry representative Wang Wenbin.

TikTok is one focus of disputes inbetween China and other federalgovernments over innovation and security that are interferingwith processor chip, mobilephone and other markets.
