French authorities have opened a “terrorism examination” after an arson attack on a synagogue in a southwestern Mediterranean town hurt a authorities officer and security forces browsed for a suspect.
Two vehicles parked at the Beth Yaacov synagogue complex in the beach resort town of La Grande Motte near Montpellier were set ablaze on Saturday, the National Anti-terrorism Prosecutor’s Office stated in a declaration.
Firefighters found extra fires at 2 entryways to the synagogue. A cops officer who strolled up to the website was hurt after a gas gas tank in one of the automobiles detonated, the declaration stated.
