Cypriot authorities are in talks with significant energy business from Persian Gulf states over prospective natural gas reserves off the Mediterranean nation’s southern shoreline, President Nikos Christodoulides informed an energy conference Friday

NICOSIA, Cyprus — Energy business from Persian Gulf states haveactually revealed interest in browsing for natural gas off the southern coast of Cyprus, President Nikos Christodoulides stated Friday.

Speaking at an energy conference in Nicosia, he stated Cypriot authorities are in early talks with numerous unknown business relatingto expedition licenses for some of Cyprus’ 13 locations, or obstructs, inside an unique financial zone.

Those talks include prospective collaborations with Italy’s Eni, France’s Total, ExxonMobil and Chevron, which currently hold expedition licenses for 10 obstructs.
