NICOSIA, Cyprus — Energy business from Persian Gulf states haveactually revealed interest in browsing for natural gas off the southern coast of Cyprus, President Nikos Christodoulides stated Friday.
Speaking at an energy conference in Nicosia, he stated Cypriot authorities are in early talks with numerous unknown business relatingto expedition licenses for some of Cyprus’ 13 locations, or obstructs, inside an unique financial zone.
Those talks include prospective collaborations with Italy’s Eni, France’s Total, ExxonMobil and Chevron, which currently hold expedition licenses for 10 obstructs.
ExxonMobil and partners Qatar Energy hold concessions in 2 obstructs, Chevron partners with Shell for one, while a consortium makingup Eni and Total have 7.
