BERLIN — Germany’s Cabinet on Wednesday authorized legislation that would enforce harder charges on individuals who break through airport boundaries, a reaction to events such as disruptive demonstrations by environment activists.
The costs, which should still be passed by legislators, visualizes penalty varying up to a two-year jail sentence for individuals who deliberately intrude on “airside” locations of airports such as taxiways or runways and threaten civil airtravel, or makeitpossiblefor somebody else to. So far, such invasions can just draw a fine.
A sentence of up to 5 years would be possible in cases where somebody forces their method into an airpo
