DALLAS — Personal info for more than 8,000 candidates to endedupbeing pilots at American Airlines and Southwest Airlines was taken when hackers broke into a information base kept by a recruiting business.

The breach at Austin, Texas-based Pilot Credentials happened April 30, and the airlinecompanies discovered about it on May 3. They informed impacted task hunters last week.
