Hundreds of UK postal employees mistakenly implicated of scams will have their convictions reversed

LONDON — Britain’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated Wednesday he will present steps to reverse the convictions of more than 900 post workplace branch supervisors who were incorrectly implicated of theft or scams duetothefactthat of a malfunctioning computersystem system.

Sunak stated the scandal, which saw hundreds of postmasters incorrectly foundedguilty of taking cash duetothefactthat Post Office computersystems incorrectly revealed that funds were missingouton from their stores, was “one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in our country’s history.”

Of the more than 900 postal branch supervisors who were foundedguilty of theft or scams inbetween 1999 and 2015, simply 95 have handled to reverse their convictions, Post Office minister Kevin Hollinrake stated.
