The fire began in a home in North Street, Midhurst, in the early hours, priorto dispersing to the roofing of the Angel Inn hotel next door. The neighborhood was applauded for its “generosity and eagerness to assistance” after an appeal for contributions was swamped. Local resident David Behan, who seen the fire, stated the refugees invested the night in a close-by Indian diningestablishment priorto they were carried to a leisure centre, from where they haveactually been re-homed. Mr Behan stated: “They showedup at Christmas with extremely bit.
