SALEM, Ore. — Oregon’s lawyer general revealed Monday she hasactually started examining the board of directors of Fox Corp. for breaching its fiduciary tasks by permitting Fox News to broadcast incorrect declares about the 2020 governmental election — declares that expense the broadcaster nearly $800 million in a suit.
Also signingupwith the examination is Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read, who manages the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, which owns more than 250,000 shares of Fox stock. Both Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum and Read are Democrats.
“Treasurer Read and I think that Fox’s board of directors breached its fiduciary tasks by enabling Fox News to broadcast incorrect declares that Dominion and Smartmatic rigged the 2020 governmental election,” Rosenblum stated. “We hope to hold the board liable and safeguard the long-lasting worth of Oregon’s financialinvestment in Fox Corp.”
Brian Nick, chief interactions officer and executive vice president of Fox Corp., decreased to remark on Rosenblum’s statement.
In April, Fox News concurred to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787.5 million to avoid a trial in the ballot maker business’s suit that would haveactually exposed how the network promoted lies about the 2020 governmental election.
Dominion had argued t
