Two individuals have passedaway in a rugged mountainous location in main Greece while attempting to aid firemens takeon a forest fire that hasactually required anumberof towns to be left, authorities have stated.

The fire near Corinth, 140 kilometres (87 miles) west of Athens, was still burning on Monday, fanned by intense winds.

Greek authorities spokesperson Constantina Dimoglidou stated the recuperated bodies were seriously charred and that lab tests were essential for their recognition.

The fire brigade hasactually introduced an examination, the Greek Ministry of Citizen Protection stated.

Smoke from the fire, which burned numerous homes and a church, hovered over the capital throughout Monday.
