Chicago, United States – Chants echoed through the streets around the United Center in Chicago, where thousands of Democratic delegates and fans collected on Wednesday to formally choose Kamala Harris as the celebration’s governmental prospect.

“Just like 1968, there’s absolutelynothing to commemorate!” the Palestinian rights protesters yelled, highlighting the parallels they see inbetween this Democratic National Convention in Chicago and the last time the event was held in the Windy City amidst a violent crackdown on anti-Vietnam war protesters.

Police officers dragged a row of bikes – forming a moving chain – on the side of the roadway along the march to keep protesters on the authorized course.

Whenever the demonstration came close to the convention centre, a wall of lots of authorities officers obstructed the roadway leading to the security border that hadactually been developed around the place.

Jinan Chehade, one of the activists leading the chants, concurred that Wednesday’s demonstration hadactually been the biggest of the 2024 convention.
