ATHENS, Greece — Strikes called by Greece’s biggest labor union halted ferryboats, interrupted public transportation services and left some state-run healthcarefacilities running on emergencysituation staffing levels in Athens and somewhereelse Wednesday.

The General Confederation of Greek Labor, GSEE, led the strikes to press for a return of cumulative bargaining rights axed more than a years ago throughout a extreme monetary crisis.
