CHICAGO — United Airlines canceled about 18 flights this week when it recognized that some of its Boeing 777-200 airplanes had not gonethrough needed examinations of the front edges of the wings.
The airlinecompany canceled flights Monday night and Tuesday earlymorning, and stated it’s attempting to rebook stranded guests.
The Federal Aviation Administration stated United grounded 25 of the jets after finding it had stoppedworking to examine slats on the wing edges that are utilized throughout launches and landings.
