CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The veryfirst U.S. spacecraft to land on the moon consideringthat the Apollo astronauts fell quiet Thursday, a week after breaking a leg at goal and tipping over near the lunar south pole.

Intuitive Machines’ lander, Odysseus, lasted longer than the business preparedfor after it ended up on its side with hobbled solar power and interaction.

The end came as flight controllers gotten one last picture from Odysseus and commanded its computersystem and power systems to standby. That method, the lander can wake up in another 2 to 3 weeks — if it endures the bitterly cold lunar night.
