Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney arrived at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai on Friday, February 27, to begin his four-day official visit to India. This marks his first official trip to the country since taking office in March 2025.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Carney’s visit from February 27 to March 2 is at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Carney will spend two days in Mumbai (February 27–28) engaging with a large range of Indian and Canadian stakeholders. His engagements would feature talks with CEOs, industrial and financial experts, innovators, educators, and representatives of Canadian pension funds operating in India.
What on the agenda
Following his stay in Mumbai, he will travel to New Delhi on March 1 for delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House on March 2.
