St Helens Primary School in Headland accommodates 374 pupils, including additional resourced provision (ARP) for 25 children with special educational needs.
The project is a cost pilot with the DfE to explore best practice and improve value delivered through the DfE’s school rebuilding programme. The new two-storey building will be designed to be net zero carbon in operation (NZCiO) and will incorporate design principles to maximise energy efficiency and help minimise long-term running costs.
