The FIFA Women’s World Cup is going strong, but which squad is favored to win it all?
When it comes to the oddsboard, the reigning world champion United States Women’s National Team remains at the top.
After opening with a 3-0 win over Vietnam, the USWNT’s odds were at +240 to win it all. A 1-1 draw with the Netherlands lengthened USA’s odds slightly to +250 and are at +270 this weekend.
Team USA was at +275 earlier this summer.

As the world watches the USWNT attempt the never-been-done-before three-peat, this Women’s World Cup is expected to be the most-bet World Cup ever.
What other teams are contenders?
Holding steady with the second-best odds is Spain at +300. La Roja started the tournament at +550 and opened with a 3-0 win over Costa Rica. That win shortened Spain’s odds to +360 before shortening even further after its second shutout of the tournament.
England, ranked fourth in the FIFA world rankings, is the third betting choice at +600, dipping slightly from +550 after starting the tournament at +430. The Lionesses were at +350 earlier this summer.
France’s odds dropped from +1400 to +900 after beating Brazil 2-1. Brazil’s odds tumbled from +1600 to +2900 after the loss.
Let’s dive into all the teams’ odds to win the Women’s World Cup as the tournament is in its second week.

Per FOX Sports Research, when the USWNT took the title four years ago in France, it entered the tournament as co-favorites to win it all (+350). The most recent World Cup was also when Megan Rapinoe won the tiebreaker with teammate Alex Morgan to capture the Golden Boot (award for most goals scored) after both players scored six goals.
Going back even further, in 2015, the team also had the best title odds of any country at +300. Household names like Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd and Hope Solo helped lead the charge when they captured the Cup in Canada eight years ago.
FOX Sports soccer expert David Mosse noted that the USWNT could be poised to cement itself in soccer’s history books next year.
“No country has won three straight World Cups on the men’s or women’s side,” Mosse explained. “But if youngsters like Sophia Smith continue to develop, the U.S. is more than capable of accomplishing that feat.”
And another FOX Sports soccer expert Doug McIntyre agrees with Mosse.
“With all due respect to the rest of a rapidly improving field, the USWNT still stands head and shoulders above every other nation in the women’s game,” McIntyre noted. “After winning the last two World Cups with veteran-heavy groups, there’s a new generation of hungry newcomers.
“They will be determined to make their mark on the biggest stage.”
